Summer Activities Available for Kids in Selma and Dallas Co.

From the West Alabama Newsroom–  School is out for summer and people in Dallas County are looking for activities to help kids have a safe — fun — and productive summer.

Activities for children are available all summer long at the Selma-Dallas County Public Library.

Summer programs that feature basketball — tennis — and T-ball are also available this summer — through the city’s parks and recreation department. Executive director Elton Reece says its important for kids out of the house this summer — and participate.

“Our goal is getting our kids outside involved in some outside activity, said Reece. “That’s what the summer is supposed to be all about — school is out for them to get outside and play.”

“The more we can get them involved in construction activities I just think the better off they’ll be,” said Dallas County parent Pandora Wilkerson.
