Oprah Winfrey Causes a Stir in Downtown Selma

From the West Alabama Newsroom– It was day three of filming for the movie ‘Selma’ — and one of the biggest names associated with the film made an appearance in downtown Selma.
Oprah Winfrey caused quite a stir at the St. James Hotel when stopped to take a picture with a nine year old girl.
Winfrey is one the movie’s producers — and she’s also acting in the film.
“I am playing Annie Cooper in this film, it’s a very small role but I’m also a producer along with Plan B, so today I’m really acting as producer,” said Winfrey.
The movie has one more day of filming in Selma before heading here to Montgomery for a day of filming on Friday.
