Pike Co. Animal Shelter One Step Closer to Reality

An animal shelter is one step closer to becoming a reality in Pike Co. after almost a decade of planning.
Troy animal coalition and pike county humane society raised $350,000 in donations and land.
They turned it over to the city to help make the building a reality.Â
The “brown bags and leashes” event in downtown Troy this week was way to celebrate that.Â
Dogs, big and small, spent a little time with their owners, and fellow pooches throughout the night.
A local band, the jim bell trio, was also on hand to provide entertainment.
Troy mayor Jason Reeves thanked volunteers for their help, raising money, to go toward the county’s shelter.
