Researchers have discovered and genetically mapped at least 500 previously unknown microorganisms and 800 bacterial viruses that live in our intestines.
Scientists in Denmark developed a new way to analyze DNA to reach their findings.
They hope the information will help develop new ways to treat a number of diseases.Â
