Running Lowers Heart Disease Risk

Running, even just a few minutes a day, appears to lower a person’s risk of dying from cardiovascular disease.

Researchers in Iowa looked at 55,000 adults during a 15 year period.

They found runners who ran consistently lowered their risk the most.

But people who ran less than an hour, and people who ran fewer miles at a slower pace–  still had a 45% lower  risk of death from heart disease or stroke compared to non-runners.
