Older Women May Want to Consider Mammograms

A new study adds to the debate about mammograms for women 75 and older.

Researchers at the University of Washington found older women whose cancer was detected by mammography had a 10% higher 5-year survival rate than women whose cancer was detected by themselves or their doctors.

Currently, The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force does not recommend mammograms for this age group.
