Union Springs Police Chief’s Daughter Murdered in Mississippi

COLUMBUS, Miss. (AP) – A Columbus woman has been charged with murder and aggravated assault after police arrested her for shooting and killing another woman early Sunday morning in the parking lot of a Columbus restaurant.
Tarkesha Carter, 25, is being held on $600,000 bond.
Police tell the Commercial Dispatch that Carter shot and killed 27-year-old Brittany Foster in the parking lot of a Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant. Columbus Police Capt. Brent Swan says after shooting Foster, Carter entered the restaurant and shot at a second employee, who was not injured.
Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant says Foster, who died at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle later Sunday morning, was shot multiple times.
Merchant says Foster was an employee of Buffalo Wild Wings, and her father is the police chief in Union Springs, Alabama.
