Obesity Increases Risk of Dementia

There is growing evidence that obesity raises the risk of dementia. 

The study finds that when a person is overweight is key. 

Researchers studied the records of thousands of obese hospital patients. 
 
For people in their thirties the risk of developing dementia was more than three times higher than for people of normal weight. 
 
The risk was lower for patients who became obese at a later age.
