Transportation Report: Alabama’s Poor Road Conditions are Costing Motorists
 A new national report shows deficient roads and bridges in alabama could be costing you a lot more than you think.
The transportation report known as “TRIP” finds that throughout Alabama, 15 percent of major urban roads and highways are in poor condition.
And these roads cost Alabama motorists a total of 3.1 billion dollars statewide each year.
“Certainly you know it when you hit a pothole or get stuck in congestion. But what you may not know is that money is coming out of your pocket to the tune of 1200 dollars each year.”
We talked to city councilman Richard Bollinger about the road conditions.
He says he is confident the City of Montgomery is on the right track with the 5 year plan.
But more rural roads do need help.
He says we will have to depend on state and federal funding for that.
