Auburns first home game was also the first time many fans saw the newly complete Toomer’s corner.

A new circular seating wall and redesign has been in the works for months.

This comes after the oaks were poisoned in 2011 and had to be cut down years later.
The soil has been replace.

Fans like the redesign but say the trees are missed.

An Auburn win meant the trees were rolled. Wires have been installed where the trees were to help keep the tradition alive.

Jon Shanklin an Arkansas fan said, “I will say I am really sad the trees aren’t here right now. just because it would a lot to the tradition and the value of Toomer’s corner.”

Charles Williams, an Auburn fan said, “It’s different. a lot different. I like it the old way. and maybe we can get it back.”

The trees are going to be replanted in early 2015.

Construction crews installed a special structural system underground. It’s designed to support large tree growth.
