Alabama Fans Speak Out about Week One and Moving Ahead

Week one of Alabama’s 2014 season may have gotten off to a shaky start according to fans, but they are seeing some promise.

Cory Colwell tells us, “offensively we got some of the best backs in the country, I think they’re great. We’re throwing the ball well. If we open it up I think we can throw the ball better. Defensively, I think we know what our problems are, our defensive backs.”

When it comes to quarterback, there are still some questions that haven’t been answered yet.
Fans have their own opinions about it.

Justin Hall says, “I believe Sims did a great job last week. I believe they should keep him there especially with this upcoming week against a weaker team. I believe he’ll show his skill. I believe he should be the starter and let the other guy back him up.”

Still others want to see more of Jacob Coker at quarterback.

Lynne Russell says, “I’d like to see Coker play some more. I think he’s the better passer down the field. They might need to use both of them. I know Saban doesn’t usually do that. But they both have positives.”

Shawn Aldridge says, “I think Sims did an ok job. I think he is still working with the offense. Like to see more play time for Coker to have an opportunity to evaluate his play. In the long run, I want who’s best for us to get us to the play offs and national championship.”

But before the playoffs and that national championship, there is the Iron Bowl.
And fans we talked to say they plan to win this year.

“I think its going to be tough, think its going to be close, but I want to say ‘roll tide,'” said Russell.
