Search Underway For Hit and Run Alabama Driver

Alabama Department of Public Safety officials say they’re investigating a hit and run crash that happened after a motorcycle accident in the Union Springs area.
Sgt. Steve Jarrett says 62-year-old John Jenkins was riding a motorcycle and hit a pedestrian Wednesday night. After that crash, Jarrett says a passing vehicle then struck Jenkins and left the scene. Jarrett says Jenkins died in the crash and the pedestrian was taken to Baptist South Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Details on the vehicle that hit Jenkins weren’t immediately available. Jarrett says anyone with information on that vehicle is asked to call the Opelika State Trooper Post at 334-745-4651.
