Some Troy University students spent the weekend giving back to their community.

About 125 students were spread across 10 service projects Thursday through Saturday.
This is the fourth year in a row the university’s held the service event.

They volunteered their time at different community agencies, like painting the inside of the Boys and Girls club.

Deandre Moreland, a sophomore said, “We really want to instill this into the smaller children so that when they come up they an do the same things and it can just be a cycle. Where they will want to do the same thing for their community. And it’s just a great community builder.”

The Troy’s Lowes donated all the supplies for the Boys and Girls Club project.

Club leaders say the kids will be speechless walking in on Monday. They knew it was coming though, they voted on the paint color.
