Gubernatorial Candidate Parker Griffith Campaigns in Selma

From the West Alabama Newsroom–  Democratic gubernatorial candidate Parker Griffith makes a campaign stop in Selma.

Griffith toured the city Monday afternoon sharing his message with voters and community leaders. He also spoke to members of the Selma Rotary Club at the St. James Hotel.

Griffith says the state can create more jobs by expanding medicaid — and creating a lottery for education.

“That lottery for education is critical for our state,” he said.

“In any direction you drive across our state line, people are buying lottery tickets or they’re gaming and we’re educating Tennessee’s children, Georgia’s children, Florida’s children and Mississippi’s children and I want to educate Alabama’s children.”

Griffith says an educated, healthy Alabama will attract more economic development — and create more jobs.
