Montgomery Residents are Preparing for Next Police Chief
Some Montgomery residents are getting a say in who will become the city’s next police chief. Â
Police Chief Kevin Murphy has been on leave since June and officially retires at the end of this month, and three people have applied for the position.
Officials say the applicants are from within the department and the candidates will be interviewed Monday by a panel of police executives and community leaders.
He says he hopes to name a new police chief on October 1st.Â
