Pregnant Women Need More Genetic Counseling

A new study from California researchers suggests pregnant women are not receiving enough genetic counseling.

They looked at over 700 pregnant women, half took part in a computer lesson about Down Syndrome and other chromosome abnormalities.

They also learned about the risks and benefits of an amniocentesis and were offered the test for free.

Researchers found when women were informed, fewer opted for the test.
