Tuskegee University Cuts Jobs in Face of “Budget Challenges”

Tuskegee University is cutting jobs as part of a plan to save money.
University officials say it’s part of an overall reduction in force. They tell Alabama News Network twenty positions were cut from the budget in late August. That will mean about a million dollars in savings.
University leaders say the school’s previous president came up with the plan to offset budget challenges.
The university employs about 850 people.
