Andalusia City Schools repurpose historic building

Andalusia Middle School was once known as Woodson High School, an all Black school before desegregation. Now city officials have come up with a plan to put the historic school back to use. By moving the city school’s central, and preschool program to the building.
But the big thing the school district is waiting on is the decision on if they will recieve the 21st Century grant.
Superintendent Ted Watson says the grant would allow students who do not have access to after school services like tutoring to come to the building and receive those benefits
Watson says re-purposing the building and adding new programs will help the district in the long run.
Andalusia City Schools are hoping to have a decision about the grant in the next coming days.
