Autauga Co. Fair Continues

It’s almost time for the Autauga County fair.
This year fair officials say you can expect even fun for the whole family.
“Live entertainment, petting zoo, Elmo the clown is going to be doing 3 shows a day out here, so something for everybody out here,” said Mike Surles, VP of the Fair.

The Autauga County Fair Association announced in 2013 it would no longer continue.
But the JROTC and the Autauga County Rescue Squad stepped in to help.
“We’ve been doing it about 25 years and this is one of our big fundraisers we do every year. We’re all volunteers and this is how we operate with the money we raise. It was important to us to continue,” said Surles.
And they aren’t the only ones. Prattville business owners are excited as well.
“We are excited to see the fair come back. Kids love it. It’s a fun family thing for everybody to get out in the community and have fun. So we’re excited that its back,” said Kasey Hope.
They say they hope its here to stay.
“It brings a lot of new people to Prattville and everything. We get to have a lot of local artists display their stuff and everything out there so people can go out and see it,” said Connie Dismukes.
The Fair starts Tuesday at 5pm and runs through Saturday. Admission is 3 dollars.
