Marion City Leaders Call for Public Input About Road Improvement Project

From the West Alabama Newsroom– The city of Marion is asking for public input — concerning an on-going road improvement project.
Mayor Tony Long says the city has about 100-thousand dollars left from a 450-thousand grant to re-surface streets and demolish dilapidated buildings in the city.
He says the dilapidated buildings have already been torn down city — and the city wants to use the leftover money to resurface more streets.
“Some of these streets haven’t been paved in 30 years,” said Long. “I think that’s the most important topic right now for the city to try to get these streets in better condition.”
Long says a public hearing to get community input is set for six o’clock Monday night at city hall.
