Jurors Considering Desmonte Leonard Punishment
Jurors are considering what punishemnt Desmonte Leonard should suffer following his triple murder conviction.
Jurors convicted Leonard on Tuesday, and now they must make a sentencing recommendation. Jurors can recommend life in prison without parole or execution. But the final decision is up to the judge. Jurors rejected Leonard’s claims of self-defense in the shooting deaths of ex-Auburn players Ed Christian and Ladarious Phillips in June 2012. Demario Pitts of Opelika also was killed.
