Selma charity benefits from fair donations

From the West Alabama Newsroom– A Selma charity gets a huge donation thanks to thousands of children who attended Alabama News Network Kids Day at the 58th Annual Central Alabama Fair in Selma.
Children got into the fair for free on Alabama News Network Kids Day this year by donating a can of food.
The canned goods collected at the fair were donated to the Christian Outreach Alliance Food Pantry Wednesday afternoon.
The fair is sponsored by the Selma Lion’s Club.
“We keep enough money to keep the lights on and pay our bills and the rest of it goes back into the community,” said fair manager and club member John Haskell.
The food pantry distributes food to more than a thousand families each month.
