Hwashin is bringing more jobs to South Alabama, and that means more opportunities for people in Butler County, and the school district.

Clarence Curry the third is a Sophmore at Georgiana High School. He comes to The career tech center at Greenville High School to learn hands on about welding and blow torching. Even though it’s his second year in high school he already has future plans.

“I wanna be a welder. Complete welding. Take care of my family.” Said Curry.

Students like Curry are hoping to leave school with a job. Hopefully at the Hwashin Plant in Greenville. The company announced it will invest millions of dollars to expand its faciltiy as well as adding 50 new jobs.

According to Greenville officials Hwashin has agreed to not pay property tax for the next ten years. But they will pay educational taxes. That’s going to bring hundreds of thousands of dollars to the school system. and thats got members of the Butler County Board of education excited about the future of their school system.

The School hopes the partnership, and the funding from Hwashin will help students like Clarence Curry the third graduate with a brighter future, and a concrete plan.
