Are Bama Fans’ Expectations too High? Saban thinks So

At his press conference this week addressing the fans, Alabama head coach Nick Saban didn’t mix words.

“If you want to know the truth about it, pisses me off when I talk to people that have this expectation like they’re disappointed that we only won the game 14-13 and in the way we played. Really. That’s frustrating!” said Saban visibly upset.

We asked fans if their expectations are too high and if they agree with Saban.

“I agree with Nick and Gene Stallings, who used to say, ‘an ugly win is better than a pretty loss. If you’re expecting me to lose ugly, you got the wrong place.’ I agree with Nick. As long as he keeps winning, I’m a happy guy,” said John Breckenridge.

And many others agree as well.

“Expectations are gonna be high because we’re used to winning. We win by a lot. So everybody’s gonna have a bad year. I know a lot of our players are gone, but you know we’re looking. We’ll take the win either way it goes, long as we’re winning, we’re ok,” said Darnell Dortch.

“I’m a die hard roll tide fan. So it doesn’t matter to me whether its one point or 20 points. I’m just happy that they’re winning,” said Sylvester Hall.

But when it comes to going to the national championship…

“Yeah, I definitely expect to go to the championship every year.” So when they don’t make it to the championship? “I’m still with them all the way,” said Hall.

But others see it a little differently.

“I don’t think they should expect them to win every year. That wouldn’t be fair,” said Billy Roberts.

While some wins are better than others, and there even may be some losses along the way, at the end of the day they say they’ll still fully support their team.

“Roll Tide!” said Roberts.
