What will it take to Win the SEC West?

It’s what makes college football so exciting– bitter rivals battling it out on the field to be number one.
Right now, the competition couldn’t be much better for the teams in the SEC West.

“All of these games the next 6 weeks are really going to be exciting. It will really shake everything out. Once we play all these games we’ll have a much better picture of what’s going to happen in the SEC western division,” said sports analyst John Longshore.

Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Alabama, and Auburn take 4 out of the top 5 rankings in the AP poll.

It has some fans nervou even after a big win.

“You gotta be nervous. Just like I said, the SEC– whether East or West, mainly the West, is strong,” said Bama fan Anthony Peterson.

Longshore says some schedules are tougher than others.

“There’s no doubt Auburn’s got the most difficult schedule. They’ve got to go to Ole Miss, to Georgia, and to Alabama, where Alabama has Mississippi State and Auburn in Tuscaloosa,” said Longshore.

But Auburn fans tell us they are remaining confident in their team.

“I’m a die hard Auburn fan, so of course I think they are gonna do well. But they do have a rough road ahead of them, so I just think if they buckle down, I think they will do ok,” said Auburn fan Heather Sayers.

After the West is won, there is the SEC championship to face the winner of the East.
Longshore says that won’t be easy for any team from the West.

“Whoever goes to Atlanta will have to have some more gas in the tank because it will be a difficult championship game,” said Longshore.
