How Low Will Local Gas Prices Go?

Filling up at the pump is not so bad these days, especially for Folcarelli’s Pizza delivery driver Forrest Milstead.
“It feels great. I love going to the gas station paying 2.84 filling up my tank,” said Milstead.
He has to pay for his own gas and he says these prices are just what he needs.
“The gas prices going down help me a lot, puts extra money in my pockets for anything I need, any extra expenses in case I need tires on my car to help keep my job. Everything just goes good being a delivery driver,” said Milstead.
And things could get better as prices may even go lower. That’s according to economic analyst Jeff Bates.
“I’m hearing as low $2.60 to $2.62, somewhere in that range. I don’t see it going much lower than that. Maybe blip down to $2.50 temporarily,” said Bates.
Bates says the lower prices come thanks to low oil prices in the Middle East.
There is a lower demand for oil worldwide and we have more internal supply here in the U.S..
Bates says that can also affect other prices.
“When you look at most of our goods in the stores are transported by diesel truck, as diesel prices come down, the cost of transportation comes down. The cost to the seller comes down, which will hopefully in result lower prices for the consumers, which will be a bonus as well,” said Bates.
And that’s good news when business keeps you on the road.
“So the drop in gas prices, keep money in my pockets, keep me happy, and keep the people we serve happy with a great order of pizza,” said Milstead.
