A House Divided Between Brothers playing for AU and SC

This video is no longer available.

It’s a house divided.

The Hooper household has bled orange and blue for years…
Perry Hooper Jr. went to Auburn and his wife, Judy, was an Auburn cheerleader.
But there were some years they were pulled in two different directions.

While their oldest son was playing at Auburn, their middle child was playing at South Carolina.

“Getting up at 3:30 in the morning and driving to S.C., sometimes together and sometimes I’d stop off in Auburn and Perry would continue to SC or visa versa depending on the travel we had to do. It was a great time,” said Judy Hooper.

In 2006 and 2007, brothers Perry and Thomas went head to head on the field.
After that, there was Davis who played at Auburn and was on the National Championship winning team.
We talked to him on the phone about any sibling rivalry.

“It’s all fun and games. When you’re an actual athlete and it’s your brother that’s involved on one team or another, you root for your brother,” said Davis.

But now that the brothers have all graduated things are a little different for the rest of the Hoopers.

“You know when Thomas was playing, we loved the Gamecocks. We’re very supportive of the Gamecocks. But now he’s done… We’re back orange and blue, bleeding that orange and blue,” said Perry.

Rivalries or not… There is one thing they are all looking forward to on Saturday.

“What’s so exciting is that they are all coming back, so we’re all going to get together again and have a lot of fun,” said Perry.

The brothers will be recognized on the field at the Auburn/ South Carolina game on Saturday.
