River Region Church Holds Fourth Saturday Event

 River City Church is looking to help the Montgomery area lead a healthier lifestyle, hosting their “Saturday Outreach” event. Walgreens pharmacists were on hand to give free flu shots, as well has test for diabetes, high blood pressure. They even gave free haircuts. Organizers say it’s all about helping people stay healthy and reaching out to the local community.

“I think it’s paramount to us, being physically healthy,” says River City pastor Tony McCullough. “We’re called to go out to be the hands and feet of Christ. It’s important to be healthy in that way so we can go and be active in engaging our community.”

Karen Mann, one of the church’s members, loves the event. “I think it’s awesome,” she says, “Especially with the nurses here taking everybody’s blood pressure, the flu shots, and everything. I mean, it’s good for everybody.”
