Tallasee Police Identify person of interest in massive ID theft case

Tallassee police say they want to talk to a man caught on surveillance video about the string of identity theft cases in the city. Investigators have released surveillance photos of the man. They are still searching for those involved in the crime. The breach affected 700 debit and credit cards in Tallassee with $300,000 dollars in fraudulent charges. Police say 15 banks are involved including some that are located outside the state of Alabama. They believe that hackers are obtaining the card information from a database.
