2 Alabama Bands Selected for Georgia Dome Battle

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) – Two Alabama bands have been selected for 13th annual Honda Battle of the Bands at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.

The eight bands competing from historically black colleges and universities will include the Alabama State University Marching Hornets Band and the Talladega College Marching Tornado Band.

Alabama State Band Director James Oliver said being selected for the event Jan. 24 caps a great year that included being film for a documentary on the A&E Network. The show will premier in January.

The other bands set to perform at the Georgia Dom are from Bethune-Cookman University, Howard University, Jackson State University, North Carolina A&T University, Southern University and Tennessee State University.
