Alabama State Bar swears in new attorneys

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) – Alabama is gaining hundreds of new attorneys.

The Alabama State Bar held its admission ceremony in Montgomery Thursday morning. The professional organization admitted more than 300 new lawyers during the event.

The ceremony included Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore and U.S. Magistrate Judge Terry Moorer.

The bar already has nearly 12,000 regular members in Alabama.

Bar statistics show that 65 percent of the 522 people who took the bar examination in July scored well enough to pass.
