Prattville dog helps police arrest its owner

Prattville police say it wasn’t hard to locate a man who ran off as they tried to execute a search warrant at his residence Tuesday. They say as officers were pulling up to Edward Melvin Henderson’s residence at 1622 County Road 85, he ran to the back of the property and jumped down a 25-foot ravine. Officers who noticed Henderson’s dog nearby pointed at Henderson and told the pooch to “go get him.” Officers followed the Dog named “Bo” who led them to Henderson who was lying in some tall grass. They were able to locate Henderson because “Bo” was wagging his tail to alert investigators to his owner’s whereabouts. According to police, the search warrant resulted in the recovery of Methamphetamine and components from a Meth Lab. Edward Melvin Henderson is charged with Failure to Obey Police, Unlawful Manufacture of a Controlled Substance 1st (2 counts), Unlawful Manufacture of a Controlled Substance 2nd and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
