Suspect in Double Murder Case Will Spend Life in Prison

A suspect in a double murder case in Pike county will spend the rest of his life in prison.

Brandon Ryles was sentenced to two consecutive life terms in Pike County court today. A jury found him guilty last month of two felony murder charges.

He was accused of killing 53-year-old Mark Adams and 22-year-old Carla Smilie.

The two were found dead in Adams’ home in the Needmore community in April 2011.

Ryles is one of four suspects who faced charges in connection with the murder.
