Troy PD, Sheriff’s Office Visit Local School Children

What do K-9s and fingerprints have in common? Well it’s all a part of Red Ribbon week in Troy.Â
Â
This is video of Troy police’s Drako and Ista showing off for the kids at New Life Christian Academy.
Â
Students learned all about how Drako is able to sniff out narcotics and Ista can detect bombs.Â
Â
This is a chance for the officers to interact with the school kids and stress the importance of being drug free.Â
Â
Also part of Red Ribbon Week– the Pike County Sheriff’s Office spent today at Heaven Sent daycare fingerprinting about 45— 2 to 5 year olds.Â
Â
It’s part of their free ID kits that can help law enforcement locate a child in times of emergency.Â
Â
The sheriff’s been doing this for the past 15 years and more than 7,000 kids have been sent home with the ID kits.Â
