Rep. Alvin Holmes Skips Out on Debate
Auburn University Montgomery held a debate Thursday night for candidates of the House District 78 seat, but Represenatative Alvin Holmes was a no show.
Republican Tijuanna Adetunji challenged the Democratic incumbent to the debate.
Holmes did not give a reason for his absence.
Adetunji says his absence shows the constitutents don’t matter.
“He didn’t think tonight was important enough to come out and talk to the constituents. That’s tells you something about him. I wholeheartedly believe that the people in district 78, their vote should not be taken for granted,” she said.
Holmes has held the District 78 seat since 1974.
The general election is this Tuesday.
