Hundreds Gather in Montgomery for the Walk to End Alzheimers

A brisk walk is one way to warm up. On Saturday morning, hundreds of people across Montgomery bundled up to do just that, and it’s for a good cause.
The Montgomery Walk to End Alzheimers, a two mile trek across the track, kicked off at Auburn University in Montgomery.
The Alabama-Florida Panhandle Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Assoication is trying to raise $20,000.
That money goes for research and to help people suffering from the disease, which destroys brain cells leading to memory loss, confusion, erratic behavior and even death.Â
But volunteers say together they hope to find a cure.
The Alzheimer’s Association sponsors walks in more than 600 communities across the country every year.
