Alabama State Hornets have a 4-5 record so far this season.
Coach Reggie Barlow signed another 3 year contract with ASU last week, and was already receiving his new salary.
But Tuesday he was told my the ASU administration to resign.
It has some ASU fans confused.

“I think it’s kinda crazy they asked him to resign. So I didn’t hear too much about it. So I don’t think they were doing that bad to resign over it,” said Cory Mosley.

Many fans say they like the coach and thought he was doing just fine.

“I think he did a good job. Just because he lost four games, they won four. So I don’t think he needs to resign. He’s done a good job,” said Latrice Thomas.

“Anybody can have a bad time. I don’t really know what’s going on. It can turn around in an instant or it can keep going downward. That’s the gamble,” said Charles Gray.

According to Barlow’s attorney,  Don Jackson, Athletic director Kelvin Hines’ told Barlow the reason for asking him to resign came after phone calls from people opposed to Barlow’s new contract.

“I think people just trying to make him leave. That’s my opinion. But I hope he stays. Don’t let them make him go,” said Thomas.

According to Jackson, Coach Barlow says that he has no plans to resign.
We were not able to get in touch with him or the ASU administration for a comment.
