WCCS Hosts Annual Selma BEST Robotics Competition

From the West Alabama Newsroom–  Wallace Community College Selma hosts the 4th Annual Selma BEST Robotics Competition.

Student teams from five areas schools battled it out for a chance to move on and compete in the South’s BEST competition at Auburn University next month.

Teams designed and built their own working robots for the competition.

“It was amazing,” said Southside High School robotics team member Antonyah Dudley. “I was so excited I was speechless, because me being 14 years old and a female working on a robot and it being able to actually work, I was, that was just like, amazing.”

Organizers say the program is designed to boost student interest in engineering, science, math and technology. They say the competition develops teamwork and problem solving skills.
