Blanket Drive Helps Montgomery’s Homeless

With winter weather setting in, one group is working to help the more than 900 men, women, and children that live in shelters and on the streets in Montgomery.
The Mid-Alabama Coalition for the Homeless is planning the annual Blanket Drive to help Montgomery’s homeless population.Â
Through this month, there will be three PODS storage containers at different locations around the city where you can donate your blankets, coats, hats and other winter gear.Â
Those items can be used as long as they’re in good condition.Â
Organizers say your donation can go a long way in helping someone in need.
The three donation points will be at Regions Bank on Coliseum Boulevard, Hertiage Baptist Church on Perry Hill Road, and the Festival Plaze Shopping Center at the intersection of Taylor and Vaughn Road.Â
