Dothan Fires Superintendent Over Harassment Claims

DOTHAN, Ala. (AP) – Dothan’s school superintendent is out of a job after being accused of sexual harassment.

The city school board voted unanimously Friday to dismiss Tim Wilder.

The decision came after a hearing that included graphic testimony about sexually charged comments that Wilder was accused of making to an employee.

A complaint filed by a school board employee last month led to the hearing. The board had placed Wilder on paid leave amid the allegations.

Wilder testified that he didn’t know how sexually charged text messages got on his phone. He also denied making lewd comments to a female worker.

Wilder has been the city school superintendent in the southeast Alabama city since July 2011.
