Golden Apple: Tiffany Thomas
This week’s Golden Apple takes us to Butler County. We met a Greenville Elementary School teacher, dedicated to make learning fun for her students.
Third-grade teacher Tiffany Thomas is a Greenville native who says teaching in her hometown has been a joy. Principal Kent McNaughton says Thomas goes above and beyond her job description, often spending afternoons, evenings and weekends, perfecting her lesson plans and getting things ready for her students.
Inside the classroom, Thomas works to reach each student, even taking time individually with them, if it helps them learn new concepts.
“Just to be there and show them that you care and that you’re concerned, it makes a difference. It makes a difference in how they act, so that helps. If I can do that, then I think I’ve succeeded,” said Thomas.
Outside the classroom, Thomas remains dedicated to children and their success. She works with the children’s choir at her church.
