The Veterans Day holiday has come and gone, but one university is continuing its effort to make sure military families are not forgotten.

Troy University is being recognized for work to honor our military. Once again the university made Gannett Company’s Military Times “best for vets” list.

Falling in line with this recognition, the university recently opened up it’s Troy for Troops Center.
It’s a place to hang out, study, meet with counselors to help with veterans benefits and more.

Phillip Johnson, Cadet Army ROTC said, “I come in here I’ve got members of the Navy, Air Force, the National Guard, the Army a couple Marines and we are all here everyday for the most part. And we mingle and we have that sense of camaraderie.”

This center’s not just for those who served, but any military affiliated students and their dependents. There’s a Troy for Troops center on the Troy and Montgomery campuses. University leaders are working on ones in Dothan and Phenix City.
