The Turkey Day Classic kicked off Saturday morning with a parade.

The ninety-first annual parade started in front of Alabama’s capitol, winding down Dexter Avenue.

Local marching bands, students and university alums lined the streets to see it all.

Hundreds of fans turned out to show their support to the Alabama State hornets before they hit the field for the big game.

And they say the parade is a big part of the tradition of the Turkey Day Classic.

Community organizations and other university representatives also marched in the parade.
