Dallas Co. Leaders Urge Residents Shop Small, Shop Local First

From the West Alabama Newsroom– As the holiday season kicks into high gear many community leaders in Dallas County have a message to residents as they cross items off their shopping list.
They’re urging residents to shop small — and shop local first. They say tax dollars help to fund local government — public education — and other public services that enhance the quality of life in the community.
“People don’t realize it but when we lose a dime on the dollar to another city it adds up, said Dallas County Probate Judge Kim Ballard. “If you can buy it here, buy it here.”
Small business is said to be the driving force behind any economy.
