One Year Later, Business Flowing At First Legal AL Moonshine Distillery

Moonshining is a booming backwoods business. But one distillery in Bullock County has found a way to make it, and it’s all legal.
We were first to tell you about Alabama’s first legal distillery last year.
And now after 15 months of production, business is flowing at the High Ridge Spirits Distillery in Union Springs.
They started out with just their original one hundred proof shine. But have now added peach, apple pie, gin, and will soon be selling vodka. The distillery can produce close to one hundred bottles a day. And their products are sold in 150 ABC stores.
Jamie Ray, Head Distiller High Ridge Spirits said, “The response locally has been huge and we just appreciate all the local support.”
It was a lengthy process to get the state’s first distillery opened. Jamie Ray says it took about a year and a half of research and preparation.
They are in the process of aging the shine right now to in the near future come out with a whiskey.
