Today big plans were announced at the Troy University’s Board of Trustees meeting.

The university will be launching a new school of science and technology during this upcoming spring semester. And former U.S. Congressman Terry Everett was on hand to present a million dollar donation towards that school.

The school will include areas of study in digital forensics, unmanned aerial systems, food safety- just to name a few.

University leaders also announced the revamping of general studies requirements. This hasn’t been done since 2005. And starting in fall of 2015 students will be able to take a broader range of classes to meet the gen-ed requirements.
