Salvation Army Gives Gifts from Magical Christmas Toy Drive

Christmas Day is a week away, but in Montgomery, the giving spirit is in the air. The Salvation Army gave toys, stockings and food to hundreds of people in need this holiday.

That includes toys you gave to Alabama News Network’s Magical Christmas Toy Drive. Altogether, your donations helped Alabama News Network give more than 3,000 items to the Salvation Army, which will help more than 500 families.

When families get assistance from the Salvation Army, they receive a Christmas dinner, complete with turkey, vegetables, and canned goods. Parents receive a bag of toys and a stocking to take home for their children. Altogether, more than a thousand children will receive gifts from the Salvation Army.

That includes children like Tabitha Flloyd’s fourth-grade son, who might otherwise not receive anything for Christmas.

“We have been through a whole lot this year. We lost a baby in the family this year,” she said.

Now, however, she says her son will be happy on Christmas Day.

“He’s a hyper child. He’s going to be very happy. Very excited.”

Thank you to everyone who contributed gifts to Alabama News Network’s Magical Christmas Toy Drive. We appreciate your support.
