ALEA Officers Out in Full Force During the Holiday Travel Period

State troopers will be out in full force as usual this holiday season — but this year they’re getting a lot of help to try and keep Alabama roadways safe.
The new Alabama Law Enforcement Agency or ALEA — puts state troopers and eleven other law enforcement agencies together in one agency.
ALEA officers will be out during the holidays looking for drunk, aggressive or distracted drivers.
“Its our primary goal to save lives and if we can get the word out now as education to the drivers that maybe it will save just one life then its worth the extra effort,” said Trooper Jamie Maloy.
The increased patrols will continue through the peak holiday travel period — which wraps up at midnight Friday, January 2nd.
