With classes starting back Tuesday some south Alabama students will notice something different this year, and school officials say the change will have a major impact on the curriculum.
Tammy Pickard is a 7th grade science teacher at Andalusia Middle School.
She’s preparing for the first day of classes after the holiday break,
and there’s a little more excitement for the new school semester.
That’s because Andalusia Middle School is now in a brand new building.
Faculty and staff worked non stop during the Christmas break to get classrooms and offices ready to go before Tuesday.
The new Building has several new features, but one stands out the most.
Pickard says at the old middle school she was very limited in what she teaches, but with the new lab that all changes.
The new building will not only help the science department, but also open doors for new programs to help students in the city.
