Coroner: Cold Weather a Factor in Missing Uniontown Man’s Death

Perry County officials say cold weather is partly to blame for the death of a missing Uniontown man.
Authorities found the body of 48 year old Michael Gibbs in an open field in Hale County along with the truck he had been driving.
They say Gibbs suffered from early dementia and according to authorities, became disoriented and got out of the truck and spent the night outside.
Authorities had been searching for Gibbs since about 7:30 Monday night after he called his father but was unable to tell him where he was.
They say Gibbs died of hypothermia.
